The Pig Guy Story

Pig Guy NYC has quickly become New York's #1 recognized pig roast and BBQ specialist. It all started when Boomer and Carton of WFAN Radio needed a pig roast to guarantee the NY Giants a win in 2013. Pig Guy NYC’s mission is clear, to provide high quality BBQ and a level of service unmatched. With locations at Citi Field, MCU Park, and now The Gansevoort Market, Pig Guy NYC is focused on constantly creating new eclectic ideas to further grow the brand. Pig Guy NYC provides a fun work environment and memorable experiences for our guests. We provide a traditional BBQ approach with Smoked Brisket and Pulled Pork with a Thai Chili Sauce, and also provide some twists like Sweet and Spicy Bacon on a Stick and Provolone Stuffed Chorizo.

The Pig Guy Legend

The legend of the Pig Guy started in 1776.  The Pig Guy, with a single hoof, defeated the British and gave the 13 Colonies their independence. He then disappeared into the woods only to be spotted once a year on July 4th sending fireworks into the sky. The original American, the true father of our country. The Pig Guy. Part man, part Pig, and 100% American.

About Thomas

Chef Thomas Perone, a Brooklyn native through and through “Cooks from the Heart”. Growing up

in restaurants Thomas worked from the age of 14 at restaurants in Bensonhurst, Coney Island,

and Bay Ridge. He was first exposed to two types of cuisine, Italian and Greek. Being of Italian

and Argentinean descent a love for Mediterranean food has always been in his passion.

 

In 2004 Thomas turn his dream into reality by attending the Institute of Culinary Education. From

that point on, Thomas' cooking flourish in Global cuisines ranging from Asian, European,

Mediterranean to Latin America, which is a natural representation of Brooklyn’s ethnic offering.

Thomas' progression as a chef was happening very quickly, being covered and documented by major networks and publications. Through his catering business, he cultivated his growing obsession for BBQ, attracting additional acclaim for his unique combinations of flavors and creative twist of this American Classic. In 2013, Boomer and Carton on WFAN Radio, christened Chef Thomas “The Pig Guy” for his extravagant and fabulous “ Pig Roast Tailgates”.  There was no turning back and the enthusiasm and expansion of his BBQ business was born, PIG GUY NYC. Thomas feels the sky is the limit and that he and his team will continually grow and strive to give Brooklyn the service and quality it deserves
